The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, emphasized that the education of northern children cannot be achieved if they continue to beg in the streets. He made this assertion during the inauguration of the Zamfara State Almajiri Integrated Qur’anic Education Center in Gummi. The Sultan highlighted the importance of the program for the community, noting that while Qur’anic schools provide essential religious education and values, the practice of begging among almajiri students is concerning. He stated that constructing integrated schools is crucial for addressing the needs of society, reducing the number of out-of-school children, and ending the practice of begging in the name of learning.
