In Madison Heights, Michigan, Elaina Rose Jennings, 25, and her boyfriend, Daniel John Giacchina, 32, have been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse following the death of Jennings’ 6-year-old son, Giovanni “Chulo” Jennings. Authorities allege that the couple repeatedly abused the boy, who was found confined, beaten, and bound to a wall with a staple gun. Despite being aware of his severe injuries, Jennings did not seek medical help due to fear of exposure. Giovanni was pronounced dead on July 31 from blunt force trauma and a perforated bowel, with an autopsy revealing extensive bruising and cuts. The couple is also accused of misleading police about the boy’s last caregiver, falsely implicating his father, who was not involved. The abuse reportedly involved confining the boy to a small pen with harsh conditions.
