Bartlett ISD is seeking grants and loans after inflation and recent storms depleted funds from its 2022 bond project, which aimed to address growth and renovate aging facilities. The bond was intended to modernize old buildings and prepare for increased student enrollment due to nearby developments like the Samsung Facility in Taylor, opening in 2026, and the Bartlett Unit correctional facility. The district is renovating a long-vacant middle school building to accommodate middle school students and repurposing the current cafeteria into classrooms and offices. A new cafeteria with seating for 550 students is also under construction, along with new sports facilities including football, baseball, and softball stadiums and an eight-lane track.
