FDA Upgrades Recall of Eggs linked to Salmonella to ‘Serious’ Health Risks or ‘Death’

< 1 min read

In late September, the FDA upgraded a salmonella-related egg recall to a Class I alert, indicating that consuming the eggs could lead to serious health consequences or death. Initially announced by the CDC on September 6, the recall involved eggs from Milo’s Poultry Farms LLC, which were linked to 65 infections across nine states from May 23 to August 10. While no deaths were reported, 24 individuals were hospitalized. Milo’s Poultry Farms, located in Bonduel, Wisconsin, has voluntarily recalled all eggs supplied during that period, which were distributed in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan.
