Boluwatife Oladipo, a 12-year-old student at St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, collapsed and died during school hours. Reports indicate that she had predicted her own death, having fainted shortly after expressing a desire to die.
A teacher described the deceased girl as having shown signs that she knew she would die. On the day of the incident, the girl was playing with classmates when she expressed a desire to die just after entering the classroom for Mathematics. Concerned classmates alerted the teacher, who found her saying, “I want to die.” The girl was taken to the school clinic and later to UNIMEDTH, where she was found to be severely anemic and placed on a blood transfusion. Tragically, she passed away during this process.
Following her death, teachers visited her home, where her mother revealed that the girl had been pressuring her for another child and had recently talked about traveling abroad for her education. The mother also shared that she had seen a ghostly figure earlier that day, prompting her and her husband to pray together.
