On November 1, 2024, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders appointed Gary Arnold, a former administrator at Little Rock Christian Academy, to the State Board of Education. Arnold, a strong advocate for school choice, played a key role in implementing the LEARNS Act of 2023, which introduced a school voucher system called the Education Freedom Account (EFA). This program will be available to all Arkansas students starting in the 2025-26 school year, with 14,297 students currently participating.
