Louisiana’s Attorney General Liz Murrill appealed, and the 5th Circuit Court’s 2-1 decision sided with her, allowing the law to potentially take effect in all school districts. The ruling was split, with judges appointed by Republican presidents supporting Murrill, while a judge appointed by Obama disagreed.
