Companies Are Failing Working Parents And Paying The Price

More than three quarters of working parents say that having children has made them more motivated in their careers, but about half don’t feel like their employers are offering them the flexibility and accommodations they need to reach their professional potential.

A new study, published by KPMG this week and based on insights from 1,000 professionals who identify as parents, shows that while 76% of respondents say that becoming a parent has enhanced their motivation at work—which in turn has helped them to achieve greater success in their careers— 53% say that they are struggling with ongoing childcare arrangements and 49% say their companies do not offer onsite or back-up care.
