Bills proposed to fix Oklahoma’s child care deserts

Pieces of legislation are in motion to incentivize child care workers and open more facilities across Oklahoma.

Childcare in Oklahoma is growing sparser as facilities like Little Dawgs Childcare Center in Minco, the only childcare center in town, are forced to close.

The owner told KOCO 5 that a subsidy from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services doesn’t work when kids are sick and that the new requirement for national accreditation is a hoop that is not worth the jump.
