Two Pennsylvania lawmakers are proposing a bill to provide students with free meals and eliminate school meal debt. Representatives Emily Kinkead (D-Allegheny) and Nathan Davidson (D-Dauphin) are reintroducing the bill to combat the growing number of children living with food insecurity in Pennsylvania. According to the two lawmakers, roughly 500,000 children in Pennsylvania live with food insecurity, and families owe approximately $80 million in school meal debt.
