Police Launch Manhunt for Father After Teen Found Dead in Fridge

Police in Manchester are investigating the gruesome death of 13-year-old Shantina Sergeant, a Christiana High School student whose decomposed body was discovered in a burnt-out refrigerator behind her family home in Baillieston, Clarendon.
Shantina had been reported missing by her father on October 3, but just three days later, police searching the area found his body.
The Christiana Police Station team confirmed that the remains were found in an advanced state of decomposition, and the Manchester police have since taken over the investigation.
This heartbreaking case underscores the urgent need for stronger child protection systems. Every child has the right to life, survival, and development, as guaranteed by the law, a right that was cruelly taken from Shantina.
