JAMB Releases Mop-Up Results for 2026 UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise, opening the next stage of the admission process for qualified candidates.

The development is important for young people seeking access to higher education. It also reflects the need to protect every child’s right to learning, growth, and personal development.

JAMB conducted the mop-up examination on June 13, 2026, for candidates who faced challenges during the main UTME exercise. These challenges included technical issues, biometric difficulties, and other problems that prevented some candidates from completing the examination process.

Through the exercise, affected candidates received another opportunity to continue their academic journey. The Board has now commenced the ranking of candidates, with admission-related result printing expected to begin soon.

Education remains a major tool for building a better future. It helps young people develop skills, discover opportunities, and contribute to society.

Meanwhile, JAMB has maintained its admission benchmarks for the 2026 academic session. Universities and Colleges of Nursing Sciences will continue to admit candidates with a minimum UTME score of 150, while polytechnics retain a minimum benchmark of 100.

The process highlights the importance of creating fair systems that allow young people to pursue their educational dreams without unnecessary barriers.
