The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has suspended lectures and convened an emergency meeting for students as growing insecurity within and around the institution raises fresh concerns over safety. The move follows two disturbing incidents in recent weeks, including the discovery of a beheaded farmer on the university’s permanent site and the alleged mob killing of a student, Ibrahim Mbaya, over claims of phone theft.
