Nigeria’s Maternal Health Crisis Puts Newborn Lives at Risk

The Economist report points out the challenges pregnant women face in Nigeria, with some communities having access to emergency obstetric services while others do not. Hospitals in more affluent areas like Lagos might be staffed and equipped to deal with emergencies, but women in less well-served communities can have a long and arduous journey to access care.
