Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno Pledges Safe, Supportive Environment to Protect and Nurture Children’s Future

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the development and well-being of children, emphasizing the importance of providing a secure and supportive environment for learning and growth. The Governor made this declaration while receiving pupils of King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo, on a guided tour of the Government House, underscoring his focus on nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Speaking to the young visitors, Governor Eno highlighted that children are the foundation of the future, urging them to remain dedicated to their studies and to use the visit as inspiration to achieve excellence. “Our job is to make sure you have a secure environment and a peaceful State where you can read your books and concentrate on your studies,” he said, adding that his administration is working to maintain peace and order while ensuring the welfare of all Akwa Ibomites.
Governor Eno also commended teachers for their dedication and guidance, describing them as essential role models in shaping children’s character and academic success. During the visit, pupils toured the Governor’s office to gain firsthand insight into the workings of government and were presented with educational materials. Each pupil also received the ARISE badge, symbolically appointing them as ambassadors of the initiative.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of an Award of Leadership Excellence to Governor Eno by the pupils, reflecting their appreciation for his commitment to children’s welfare. Senior Prefect, Miss Ruth Thank-God, expressed gratitude on behalf of the students, while Deputy Head Teacher Mrs. Grace Ben praised the Governor for demonstrating genuine care for young learners. The visit reinforced Governor Eno’s pledge to create lasting opportunities and a nurturing environment for children across Akwa Ibom State.
