Priceless Lessons From a Child Sexual Abuse Story: Healing Pathways, Prevention Strategies, and Culture–Systems Fortification

Across families, faith spaces, schools, and communities, one truth is becoming harder to ignore: children are safest not just where policies exist, but where protective values are deeply lived. This is the conviction behind Every Part of My Body Is Private to Me®️ Masterclass; a powerful, in-person learning experience designed to reshape how adults understand, teach, and practice child safeguarding.

This upcoming Masterclass will hold in three major Nigerian cities:

  • Lagos – Sunday, May 3, 2026 | 2:00pm–6:00pm
  • Abuja – Sunday, May 10, 2026 | 2:00pm–6:00pm
  • Port Harcourt – Sunday, May 17, 2026 | 2:00pm–6:00pm

A Masterclass Rooted in Lived Experience and Proven Practice

The Masterclass is led by Taiwo Akinlami, Africa’s foremost Family Attorney, Family Strengthening and Child Safeguarding Innovator, Parenting Ideologue, and one of the leading voices shaping child-protection culture across the continent.

This is not a theoretical exercise. The learning journey draws from his own childhood experience of sexual abuse, the long-term impact it had on his formative years, and the healing process that later restored dignity, clarity, and purpose. That personal journey is woven together with almost three decades of hands-on work empowering families, institutions, faith communities, and organisations globally.

The result is a practical, trauma-informed, and culture-led Masterclass that translates lived experience and long-term practice into clear tools for prevention, healing, and sustainable safeguarding.

The Governing Philosophy: Culture Comes Before Systems

At the heart of this Masterclass is a simple but disruptive truth:

Culture precedes system.

Systems do not create safety. They only manage what culture has already produced.

By culture, we mean the dominant values, beliefs, norms, and everyday decisions that shape how adults see children, talk to children, and respond to risk. Where culture is weak, systems struggle. Where culture is strong, systems become effective and enduring.

This Masterclass therefore begins where lasting change truly starts by shaping values, strengthening moral and relational foundations, and forming habits that make child safeguarding natural rather than forced. Only then does it move to systems: policies, structures, and accountability frameworks that sustain and scale what a healthy culture has already built.

Prevention First, Healing Always

Anchored on the conviction that prevention is the best protection, the Masterclass equips participants with proactive strategies that stop harm before it begins. At the same time, it affirms a critical truth: healing is possible. With the right knowledge, skills, and fortitude, individuals and families can move from pain to wholeness.

Beyond awareness, the program advances fortification, embedding family strengthening and child safeguarding into everyday life by building culture first and then reinforcing it with systems that have staying power.

The Four Pillars of the Masterclass

The learning experience is structured around four foundational pillars:

  1. My Story (Stories, Senses, and Stones)
Personal experience distilled into principles and practical action.
  2. Prevention
Proactive strategies that reduce vulnerability and stop abuse before it starts.
  3. Healing
Pathways that restore dignity, clarity, and emotional wholeness.
  4. Fortification
Moving from compliance to culture by strengthening families and building safeguarding systems that last.

What Participants Will Learn

Through a guided and carefully sequenced learning journey, participants receive answers to nine fundamental questions that move child sexuality education from confusion to clarity, and from good intentions to measurable protection:

  1. Social and Legal Concept – What is experiential, practical, and socially and legally compliant child sexuality education?
  2. Who Teaches It – What qualifies primary and secondary parents, and who is empowered to teach it effectively?
  3. Methodology – How should it be taught for real understanding and safety?
  4. Curriculum – What exactly should be taught?
  5. Language – What child-friendly, socially appropriate, and legally sound language should be used?
  6. Target Audience – Who should be taught, and who should not?
  7. Timing and Age Appropriateness – When should it be taught for maximum protection?
  8. From Compliance to Culture – What is the true goal of teaching it?
  9. The Future – How do we build culture, the staying power of a world fit for children?

Outcomes That Matter

Participants leave this Masterclass equipped to:

  • Prevent abuse through informed, values-driven action
  • Support healing with clarity and compassion
  • Build safeguarding cultures and systems that protect children consistently
  • Strengthen families and institutions at home, in schools, faith communities, and across society

This is not just training. It is a culture-shaping experience designed to protect children today and secure a safer future for generations to come.
