Gunmen Kidnap Over 20 Medical Students In Benue

More than 20 medical and dental students, along with a house officer, were kidnapped by gunmen in Benue State while traveling to an annual convention in Enugu. The ambush occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the Otukpo area. The students are from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos.

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and is investigating the incident. There has been no official demand for ransom or conditions for the release of the kidnapped individuals. This incident is part of a broader increase in kidnapping cases across the country, where criminal groups frequently target people and demand large ransoms.
