JAMB Releases Results of Underage Candidates, Sets Deadline for O’Level Upload

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it has released the results of 85 underage candidates, those below 16 years of age as of September 2025, who successfully completed the Board’s comprehensive screening process for exceptional admission.
In a statement issued on Monday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the examination body said the 85 candidates have been duly cleared and notified to proceed to their respective institutions to finalize their admission and print their official JAMB admission letters.
JAMB explained that the exceptional admission policy aligns with global best practices, treating such cases as rare and merit-based exceptions.
Out of over 2 million applicants in the 2025 UTME, 41,027 sought admission under this special category, with 599 meeting the 80% UTME threshold. Following additional scrutiny and interviews, only 85 were deemed fully qualified for admission.
The Board also opened a brief window for the remaining 182 shortlisted candidates who missed the final interview to submit formal complaints via its Support Ticketing System under the new “2025 Underage Complaint” category for individual review.
Furthermore, candidates who scored 320 and above in the UTME but failed to upload their O-Level results have been granted a two-day grace period (ending Wednesday, October 29, 2025) to do so and notify JAMB through the ticketing platform.
JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency, inclusivity, and academic integrity in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
This decision reinforces every child’s right to education as enshrined in the Child’s Rights Act (2003), which guarantees access to quality education and opportunities for academic advancement without discrimination. By recognizing and supporting exceptional young learners, JAMB upholds the principle.
