Kwara Sets July 26 for Statewide Junior Secondary Entrance Exam

The Kwara State Government has fixed Saturday, July 26, 2025, for the conduct of the Common Entrance (Placement) Examination into Junior Secondary Schools across the state’s 16 local government areas.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, during a press briefing held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Ilorin. According to a statement released by the Ministry’s Press Secretary, Peter Amogbonjaye, the commissioner assured that all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the exam.
Dr. Olohungbebe emphasized that the examination will commence promptly at 8:00 a.m. at designated centres across Kwara. He called on pupils, parents, and school administrators to strictly adhere to the examination guidelines to maintain order and fairness throughout the process.
Importantly, the commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his administration’s full sponsorship of the examination. He highlighted this gesture as a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to upholding every child’s right to free and inclusive basic education.
“No child should be excluded from education due to financial barriers,” Olohungbebe stated, noting that access to education is not only a social duty but a fundamental right that must be protected and respected. He also issued a stern warning that any principal or headteacher caught collecting unauthorized fees from pupils will face the full weight of the law.
