Police Smash Child Trafficking Ring, Rescue Two-Month-Old Baby

The Lagos State Police Command has dismantled a child trafficking syndicate, rescuing a two-month-old baby and arresting five suspects. The operation followed a report of the baby’s abduction by the mother to the Oko-oba Division.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, reported that detectives arrested Gloria Sunday, who admitted to selling the baby for ₦500,000 to Pastor Peter Udoh. The pastor, arrested in Ogun State, admitted reselling the child for ₦1,450,000 to Loretta Nelson, who was also apprehended.
The final buyers, Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, were arrested during a naming ceremony for the abducted child. All suspects are in police custody and will be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigation.
