Former Boy Scouts of America leader Stephen Corcoran was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing three boys in his Morris Plains home two decades ago. Corcoran, previously an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 173, pleaded guilty to the abuse, which occurred between 1997 and 1999 when the victims were aged 13 to 17. Corcoran, already serving a seven-year sentence for child pornography, declined to make a statement during sentencing. Seven years of the sentence will run concurrently with his existing term, with the remainder being served consecutively. Corcoran had previously denied the allegations but eventually pleaded guilty. His reasons for doing so remain undisclosed.
