Americans Will Now Need To Pay A Fee To Visit This Popular Latin American Country

< 1 min read

American citizens can travel to 189 countries visa-free with a U.S. passport. However, Brazil has recently made it harder for Americans to visit the country by revoking visa-free entry from April 10, 2024. Travelers without a valid visa will not be allowed to board planes bound for Brazil or cross land borders. The new Brazilian visa is fully digital and costs $80.90, with a validity of 10 years. The visa application requires filling out a form, uploading supporting documents, and paying the fee. The decision to revoke visa-free entry was made after the Bolsonaro Administration’s initiative to lift the visa requirement in 2019.
