Colo. Teen Planning to Take Photos on Property Is Shot in Face After Homeowner Tells Boyfriend About Trespassers

Two teenage boys were shot at while attempting to seek permission from a homeowner in Conifer, Colorado, on September 10. After approaching the property, they returned to their car to write a letter when Brent Metz, 38, arrived and allegedly fired a bullet through the windshield, hitting the 17-year-old driver in the face. Metz was arrested and faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault and illegal discharge of a firearm. The injured boy was hospitalized but has since been released and is recovering at home. Metz posted bond the following day, and his next court date is scheduled for September 17. The investigation is ongoing.
