A Texas boy, 13, who is accused of accidentally killing his younger brother with an unsecured firearm, appeared in front of a judge this week as his family pleaded for his release. On July 25, the teen was handling the gun when it accidentally went off and shot his eight-year-old brother Daniel Casares, the San Antonio Police Department said. Casares died from a gunshot wound to the head and neck, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
