The Federal Capital Territory Administration has closed down the Priesthood Orphanage in Karonmajigi, rescuing 23 children aged 1 to 14 who were trafficked from Plateau state. The FCT Minister has authorized the recertification of orphanages in Abuja, with efforts underway to reunite the children with their families in Plateau state. The Plateau State government expressed dismay over the conditions at the orphanage and thanked the FCT Women’s Secretariat for their assistance in relocating the children to the Karu Children’s Home.
