Former Chime Elementary School Principal Joan Roberts Pohl visited the school, adorned with a green ribbon symbolizing community support from 1999 for a student with brain cancer. The school, closed since 2008 and used by the Kalamazoo Regional Education Service Agency’s Youth Advancement Academy, hosted a farewell gathering. Attendees, including the Vondran family, reminisced about the school’s tight-knit community and support during difficult times, reflecting on its significant role in their lives before its upcoming demolition this summer.
