The National Examination Council has insisted that Kano is the best-performing state that ranks first in the whole of the Federation on the 2025 Council Examinations with 5.886 per cent and 39,351. A report by a national newspaper has faulted NECO, giving Abia as the best-performing ranking state that comes first using the state code number 001 as a yardstick in their judgment, but the council rose to the occasion, describing the reports as misleading and not correct.
