Report: Suicide Attempts Down in Maryland Among High Schoolers

< 1 min read

A recent study shows a significant decrease in suicide attempts among Maryland high school students. In 2021, approximately 1-in-6 teens reported attempting self-harm, but by 2022, this number had decreased to 1-in-10. Experts caution that while the figures remain concerning, the declining trend marks the most substantial improvement in nearly ten years, signaling progress in addressing youth mental health challenges.
