A local state senator is against a childcare bill that just passed the house. State Senator James Ruchti says he does not support House Bill 243. The bill lets childcare centers set their own child-to-staff ratios. It’s aimed at addressing the state’s childcare crisis by making the process of operating childcare centers easier. Ruchti says it would make the childcare centers less safe.
