Stacie Grissom and Sean Wilson lived in New York City for nearly a decade until the COVID-19 pandemic prompted them to reevaluate their priorities. Grissom, who was pregnant and working in marketing at BarkBox, felt a strong desire to move back to their hometown of Franklin, Indiana, to be closer to family. In September 2024, they officially relocated. After their son was born, Grissom reached out to a realtor friend in Franklin to find a quirky fixer-upper. They ended up interested in an old school building that had been used as a school from 1914 to 1934 before becoming a barn. Grissom’s parents visited the property on their behalf.
