Ninety days after passing in the West Virginia Legislature, Senate Bill 199, known as the school discipline bill, is now officially in effect and will be enforced during the 2025-2026 school year. The bill is meant to give teachers in West Virginia more power over students in their classrooms and also outlines the process after a behavioral incident in a public school.
