Highly recruited scholar Curtis Lawrence III has officially announced his decision to enroll at Florida A&M University (FAMU) this fall, joining the Class of 2025. The 16-year-old Washington, D.C. native, who is graduating with both a high school diploma and an associate degree, shared his eagerly awaited decision in a social media video.
Lawrence, who will enter FAMU as a rising junior, received over $1.6 million in scholarships and was accepted to prestigious institutions, including Harvard, Yale, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, Howard, and Morehouse. However, he chose FAMU for its strong biology program and the unique experience of attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
“In the fall, I will be double-majoring in biology and computer science and taking my talents to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University,” Lawrence announced.
