The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that online registration for its Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session will begin on Monday, July 28, and run until Wednesday, August 20.

This was disclosed in a statement by the institution’s Registrar One and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Abosede Wickliffe, as published on the university’s official website.

According to the statement, only candidates who selected UNILAG as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 200 and above are eligible to apply for the screening. In addition to this, applicants must have five credit passes at a single sitting in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Furthermore, only those who upload their O’Level results to the JAMB portal on or before September 12 will be considered for admission. Candidates who will not be up to 16 years of age by September 30 are ineligible to apply. Participation in the online aptitude test is compulsory; failure to do so will result in disqualification from the admission process.

The university has advised candidates to register with active and personal email addresses, as this will serve as the primary channel of communication throughout the admission process.

UNILAG has also stated that former students whose admissions were withdrawn due to poor academic performance or prolonged absence may be allowed to reapply, provided they are seeking admission into an entirely new programme. However, students who were expelled from the institution under any circumstance are not eligible for readmission.

Importantly, the university reiterated its stance on student conduct, stressing that it maintains zero tolerance for drug abuse. Any candidate who tests positive for drug use, whether before or after registration, will have their admission immediately withdrawn.

To prepare candidates, a mock Post-UTME examination will be held from August 25 to August 27, ahead of the main screening, which is scheduled to take place from September 1 to September 5.

This latest announcement reaffirms the university’s commitment to upholding the right to education, while ensuring that access is based on merit, discipline, and a drug-free learning environment.
