2026 Common Entrance Results Out: 10 Children Emerge Nigeria’s Overall Best Scorers

The Federal Government has celebrated the achievement of 10 children who emerged as the overall best in the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and affirmed its determination to improve access to quality education for all Nigerian children, scoring 202 out of a possible 210 marks.

The results, released on Thursday by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’idu Ahmad, revealed that 70,357 candidates had registered for the examination to gain admission into the 80 Federal Government Colleges (FGC) in Nigeria, popularly referred to as Unity Colleges. The number of candidates who sat for the examination held on June 6, 2026, in Nigeria, the Benin Republic and Togo, were 66,950, with 3,407 candidates missing.

Prof. Ahmad said the National Common Entrance Examination is one of the avenues through which children from various parts of the country could be admitted into Junior Secondary School One of the Unity Colleges, which continue to champion academic excellence, national integration and equal learning opportunities.

She said that the admission in the colleges will be continued as per the approved formula of 60 per cent merit, 30 per cent equality of states and 10 per cent exigency.

The minister also revealed that 82 candidates got the lowest score of one mark in the entrance examination into the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, which had a highest score of 187 marks out of 210.

Prof. Ahmad reiterated the government’s commitment to the right to education of children, promising to invest in school infrastructure, quality of teachers and feeding programmes. She stated that all children have the right to quality education and a learning environment that allows them to learn, develop their talents and reach their full potential.
