The Alabama State Department of Education announced the sixteen finalists for the 2024–25 Teacher of the Year award, chosen from a pool of over 155 teachers statewide. The winner will be revealed in May during a ceremony in Montgomery. Jeff Norris, the current Teacher of the Year, expressed excitement about the exceptional candidates and their exemplary leadership in the classroom. Finalists were selected from various districts, representing both elementary and secondary levels. The Teacher of the Year serves as an ambassador for education, conducting workshops and becoming a candidate for National Teacher of the Year.
