Foundation, firm promote inclusion for children amputees

The Irede Foundation has partnered with Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (NNPC/SNEPCo) to promote inclusion for children living with disabilities by providing them with prosthetic limbs. Founder Crystal Chigbu stated that this partnership enables children with disabilities to return to school and access education, breaking the cycle of poverty. At the official handover of the 2022 NNPC/SNEPCo Back to School Project, the foundation provided five limbs to four children, emphasizing the role of prosthetic limbs in driving inclusion, confidence, and access to various environments for these children. Chigbu highlighted that these limbs also allow parents to maintain their desired lifestyle without quitting their jobs to care for children with special needs. Through this partnership, they have reached 10 million people this year.
