The importance of children having good manners varies widely across different countries. In the United States, only 52% of adults considered good manners to be a crucial quality for kids in 2017, a significant decline from 76% in 1990. This makes the U.S. the country least likely, among 24 surveyed, to prioritize good manners. In contrast, Egypt ranked highest with 96% emphasizing good manners, followed by Nigeria at 89% and Morocco at 88%. The data comes from the “Parenting priorities: international attitudes towards raising children” report by King’s College London, using the World Values Survey.
