Louisville Entrepreneur Bringing Educational Opportunities to her Home Village in Uganda

Sarah Kimeu, originally from Bwoga, Uganda, faced challenges accessing education due to family responsibilities. With support from her aunt and a pastor from Norway, she attended boarding school, launching her educational journey. Running to school as a girl honed her skills and led to an athletic and academic scholarship at Western Kentucky University, where she met her husband Joseph. Both overcame obstacles in their upbringing—Joseph from a village in Kenya—to pursue education in the United States. Sarah later founded Sasa Samosa Kitchen in Louisville, offering handcrafted samosas with locally sourced ingredients, aiming for a flexible business to support her family.
