Manteo Mitchell, a 2012 Olympic silver medalist, met 16-year-old Quincy Wilson at the Olympic Track Trials in June, where Wilson qualified for the Paris Olympics in the 4x400m relay pool. Mitchell was impressed by Wilson’s maturity and confidence, noting his impressive demeanor despite his young age.

Wilson, a high school student from Potomac, Maryland, is a passionate gamer with nearly 250,000 Instagram followers and has interacted with celebrities like LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Mitchell appreciates Wilson’s self-assuredness, seeing it as a sign of his strong confidence rather than arrogance.

If selected for the 4x400m relay, Quincy Wilson would become the youngest-ever U.S. male Olympic track and field athlete. Manteo Mitchell believes Wilson is well-prepared and confident, regardless of his lack of experience in high-pressure situations. The men’s 4×400 relay’s first round is scheduled for Friday at 5:05 a.m. ET, with the final taking place on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
