New research from King’s College London and City University of New York reveals that childhood neglect and maltreatment have a more severe impact on cognitive abilities in adulthood than previously thought. Led by Professor Andrea Danese, the study, published in Lancet Psychiatry, highlights the flaws in relying solely on retrospective self-reports of maltreatment.
