A 3-year-old boy went missing in a large cornfield in rural Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin, last Sunday, reportedly because he was following a cat. Authorities quickly located the boy within hours thanks to a combination of training, teamwork, and technology. Sheriff deputies used a flashlight on the ground and a drone with thermal capabilities to navigate the 6-foot corn stalks and find the child. The successful rescue was aided by the Fond Du Lac Police Department’s drone pilot, who played a crucial role in locating the boy.
