British Teenagers Among the Spottiest in the World, Study Reveals

A study published in the British Journal of Dermatology found that British teenagers are among the most likely to have acne, ranking eighth out of 204 countries in 2021. In the UK, 14.65% of adolescents and young people were diagnosed with acne, up from 13.57% in 1990. The highest prevalence was in Germany, where nearly 15.98% were diagnosed. Other countries with higher rates than the UK include Portugal, Luxembourg, Norway, Andorra, Denmark, and San Marino. Overall, acne rates have risen in most countries since 1990, with New Zealand being the exception.
