Parents of special needs children in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District have urged the school board to maintain the DELTA special education program at H. Glenn Richardson, which serves students with moderate to significant support needs. The program helps students either needing more support or transitioning back to public schools from non-public placements. Angel Hixson, a mother of special education students, expressed concern that parents were not informed about the program’s review despite several advisory meetings. She called on the board to carefully review the report before making a decision, which is expected to be discussed at the Dec. 19 meeting.
