To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s fall, German students at South Forsyth High School built and later tore down a replica of the wall. The project followed a unit on the wall’s history, taught by teachers Jonas Strecker and Steffi Legall-Riddle. The wall featured graffiti on the “West” side and historical facts on the “East” side. For about a week, the wall stood in the school’s main hall, forcing students to walk around it, encouraging them to reflect on its significance. The project aimed to enhance cultural understanding and create a lasting impression of this pivotal moment in history.
