Officials in California said a 7-year-old boy stayed by his mother’s side as she died after they were involved in a crash Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the unidentified mother lost control of her Subaru Crosstrek while leaving a friend’s house to head to their home in Tollhouse.
She swerved off Highway 168, traveled off the embankment and then rolled the vehicle over multiple times, officials said.
Authorities said the driver and her young son were both thrown from the car. The mother died shortly after and the boy stayed by her side for about 12 hours before he was found.
