The Nasarawa State Government has disclosed that no fewer than one million under-five children are currently benefiting from its malaria elimination programme, which commenced in June this year. The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Gaza Gwamna, stated this during a media parley on the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention programme on Thursday in Lafia, the state capital. According to him, the ministry is partnering with the Malaria Consortium, one of the largest international non-profit organisations working to eliminate malaria and other infectious diseases across Africa, Asia, and the Americas, to tackle the disease across the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.
