Childhood is being systematically stripped away in Haiti as armed groups dramatically expand their ranks with children. UNICEF has revealed a staggering 200 per cent surge in child recruitment, warning that deepening violence, mass displacement, and extreme poverty are driving thousands of children into the grip of armed factions.
