Smartphone Rules at School Gates Failing Children as Experts Warn of Family-Wide Safeguarding Gap

A growing body of international policy responses is tightening smartphone use in schools, with countries such as France, South Korea, and Hungary introducing strict restrictions to limit in-school screen exposure. However, a recent experiment in Aichi Prefecture suggests that school-only rules may be insufficient, as children’s smartphone habits closely reflect those of their parents.
