29 Days in Captivity: Makinde Reveals Location of Abducted Oyo Pupils as Rescue Efforts Continue

The abducted schoolchildren and teachers from Oyo and Borno States have spent 29 days in captivity, with new details emerging on ongoing efforts to secure their release.
The latest update came from Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who disclosed that intelligence reports indicate the abducted pupils and teachers are being held within the Old Oyo National Park. He said security agencies are currently working to rescue them, but the difficult terrain and large size of the park have slowed down operations.
The revelation comes as President Bola Tinubu again assured Nigerians that the government remains committed to securing the safe return of the children. Tinubu said the continued captivity of the pupils and teachers remains a major concern, adding that security agencies are working through intelligence-driven operations.
Families of the abducted children continue to wait for positive news, while public concern grows over the prolonged detention. The incident has also intensified calls for stronger protection of schools and faster response to threats against children across the country.
As the 29th day passes, attention remains on the rescue mission and the government’s ability to bring the children home safely.
