A woman in Azerbaijan has realised a dream of motherhood spanning almost four decades by giving birth to her first child after 38 years of waiting. Dr Natig Magerramov, who supervised the treatment, said a successful fertility treatment programme made the rare birth possible. He called the delivery a blessing, but also noted the role of advanced assisted reproductive technology in helping the woman fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a mother.
